CHARLOTTE BOBCATS: Bobcats Insider 2006-07
As of Thursday’s practice, Raymond Felton’s status for Friday’s game against Seattle at Charlotte Bobcats Arena was still uncertain.

Felton left Wednesday’s 110-108 overtime loss in Boston in the third quarter with a back injury and did not return. He did not practice on Thursday and Bobcats General Manager & Head Coach Bernie Bickerstaff said he is scheduled to undergo and MRI today.

If for any reason Felton is unable to go against the Sonics, Adam Morrison, Matt Carroll or Bernard Robinson could step into the starting lineup alongside Brevin Knight, and Bickerstaff said Robinson would move into the role of backup point guard as well.

Winston-Salem Journal | UNC, Davis have deal: Three sources say he’ll be Tar Heels’ next football coach
North Carolina and Butch Davis have reached an agreement that will bring him to Chapel Hill as the school’s next football coach, three sources said yesterday.

A contract agreement between the sides was unclear late last night. One source said a contract had been signed, but another said that a tentative agreement had been reached and Davis had not signed a contract.

All of the sources said that school officials are working out the announcement of Davis’ hiring. The sources said that school officials aren’t sure that an announcement would be proper before Saturday, when North Carolina will play its homecoming game against Georgia Tech.

Charlotte Observer | 11/03/2006 | Knights’ luxury plan is nothing minor
Will Charlotte pay for big-league trappings — luxury boxes and club seats — for a minor-league baseball team?

The Charlotte Knights’ quest for a new stadium uptown is contingent on a complex public-private land swap in the Third Ward. But for the deal to work financially for the AAA team, the Knights say they must sell club seats and naming rights to the stadium and lease considerably more luxury boxes than it has at its stadium in Fort Mill, S.C.

After years of financial losses at Knights Stadium, the team made a “small operating profit” this season after operating expenses of $4 million, said general manager Dan Rajkowski. But new stadium construction debt would make expenses leap to about $10 million or $11 million a year.
