Another free code editor, this one that does much more fore web 2.0 development.
WebMonkey.com did a writeup on it here: MonkeyBites: Aptana
Aptana is a new integrated development environment for building interactive web pages. It’s likely to be a big hit among Web 2.0 developers since it facilitates speedy coding of JavaScript behaviors and CSS styles. Aptana has a nice code assistant that’s customizable, and the application ships with several popular JavaScript libraries that developers can import and employ. The app comes with third-party libraries like JQuery, Prototype, script.aculo.us, Yahoo UI and Dojo, among others.
I’m going to download it and give it a shot. There are some things i’ve been itching to build…

ESPN Wants to Be MySpace for Fans

Advertising Age - MediaWorks - ESPN Wants to Be MySpace for Fans
NEW YORK AdAge.com — ESPN is hoping to become the MySpace of the sports world. In September, it will unveil as part of ESPNs Sports Nation property the tools for fans to create profiles, contribute to sports blogs, post opinions and link to favorite articles.
This is something that will be HUGE. Sports forums are huge, and game chats are big as well, but to facilitate games, etc like this article suggests, there will be no other destination but ESPN.com during gameday.
ESPN also unveiled its digital plans for “Monday Night Football,” coined “Monday Night Surround.” ESPN.com’s editor in chief, John Papanek, said the network would cover the game “the way ABC covered the Super Bowl — with fleets of trucks and armies of crews.” “Monday Night Surround” will feature scouting reports, news and games within a game, where fans from the opposing teams register and battle each other for fan supremacy through trivia, IQ contests, debates and betting contest created and hosted by Page Two columnist Bill Simmons.
Myspace.com is great for people 13-25. Imagine having something like that with the look of ESPN… because let’s face it, MySpace.com visually is garbage. ESPN.com is one of the more progressive sites on the net and is very visually appealing. Once they add-in blogging and chats with other fans of the same team as you, it’ll be the one-stop destination for every fan. FoxSports, CBS and SportingNews aren’t even close. Sure, FS and SN both have blogs, but they aren’t very customizeable. I’m looking forward to seeing it and the cool new technology they bring to the table.

Who Wants to be a Superhero: Episode 1 (series premiere) - TV Squad
But Stan . . . Stan, Stan, Stan. What the heck were you thinking when you created Who Wants to be a Superhero? Don’t get me wrong, the concept is good: enlist normal people to dress up as original comic book heroes (with self-made costumes) and compete in an elimination tournament where the winner would get their own comic book and an original movie on the Sci-Fi Channel. However, the outcome that premiered was, well, not very good at all.
Yeah. We watched the opening montage and flipped back to The Rundown starring Duane “THE ROCK” Johnson.

cyberpets widgets are flash files you can place in your website or MySpace page for your friends to see and enjoy. Clicking on them makes them move, hope, etc. You can also feed them by clicking on a menu in the bottom right and dragging their meal around the stage. Personalization options include pet’s name, owner’s name and color of the pet.. (like having a purple Llama named Bruce, for example).

RelishNow | Best Wishes: Fox News puts a bit of sting in its counter-punches
MSNBC host Keith Olbermann was the latest to visit the wishing well. When The New York Times recently asked Fox its opinion of Olbermann, who has repeatedly used Bill OReilly as a pinata on his nightly news countdown, spokeswoman Irena Briganti replied:”Because of his personal demons, Keith has imploded everywhere hes worked. From lashing out at co-workers to personally attacking Bill OReilly and all things Fox, its obvious Keith is a train wreck waiting to happen. And like all train wrecks, people might tune in out of morbid curiosity, but they eventually tune out, as evidenced by Keiths recent ratings decline. In the meantime, we hope he enjoys his paranoid view from the bottom of the ratings ladder and wish him well on his inevitable trip to oblivion.”
Have a nice day, Keith
OUCH!
I don’t care what anyone says, I still miss him on ESPN.
