I will admit, I watched most of American Idol. I lose interest when things start getting "serious" on the show, meaning I like to watch people make fools of themselves, and I generally don't watch most of the show.

But this season I watched more than I usually do, mainly because of Taylor Hicks. A white dude from the south that plays the harmonica and sings the blues, he was instantly my favorite, even more so than the 3 contestants that were from my home state of NC.

Taylor Hicks, to me, was the most likeable and interesting person in the whole lot. He was the guy that Simon Cowell initially said had no place in the competition and would never be the American Idol.

It's nice to prove the British wrong.

So Taylor Hicks is the new American Idol. Hell yeah. It's about time they had someone worth listening to win that show.
